Default FI manifold for D series+AC/Update - AC removed.

Going to weld together the manifold for D16Z6 engine. And problem with space. AC must stay.
Turbo as it self have space. The compressor looking to trany side. And it fits OK. But the turbo(iron) side flange moved that way too. And it's infront of heads 3 cylinder exhaust runner.

As the the manifold will be costume made, I have lot of possibilities how to made it. My target are all runners same length.

Looking for some pics of that kind of manifolds.

Give the dude a break. English isn't his first language.

His question is that he wants to make an EL manifold with the turbo flange offset over to in front of #3 port.

I have never seen an EL like this, but perhaps someone else has?

Thanks man, you get my point! It will not be like Full-race EL manifold. I fave no space for that. Much simpler, but with same lenght runers.

Ok, I'm looking into FI manifolds on D series with AC.

Here it is:

What do you think about 2 runner? Is it necessary to make it longer?

x2

I would adjust the fitment on a few of the runners to eliminate the gaps, clean the metel better and give it a propper chamfer to help with the penetration. You are MIG welding this arent you?

edit: there has got to be a better way to route this thing to make it more equal length.....I'm thinking on it.

I'm collecting money for TIG. I'm putting together all my jobs with MIG like manifolds and exhausts. Have good partnerships with metal work shops. And give them all my jobs for TIG welding. Actually if I had TIG I could weld by my self too.

I will make some shield for Ac lines and re longer the 2 runner a little longer.

The tig welder will appreciate it if you tighten up those gaps so they dont have to refit the pipe before welding so much. It might affect the fitment after they are done with it if you dont.

One question though. Do you have any pics of how runner #2 connects to the collector?

Yeah! I know about welder opinion when he must to weld some parts with gaps. Sometimes some parts learn to fly......and crash in trashcan

The 2 runner connected with collector. Strait from right side.

I'd put a rubber bushing or something between the tab on the intercooler and the support/mount. Allow it some play or vibration might cause things to crack.

isn't that what the rubber/silicone hoses that the i/c connects to does? I've seen many i/c's directly bolted to the frames of cars without any problems

everything looks nice

Vibrational stress from the chassis is what I'm worried about... and the couplers don't always flex alot. If he has solid mounts... then yah... maybe it'll not really move. Personally.. I'd put a thing rubber washer between the mount and the mounting tabs... IC won't move, but shocks will be dampened.

This is stock D16Z engine. It will be tuned with Crome, I'm working with this soft for some time and did before only NA cars. What kind of peak boost recomend. I don't want to higher than 7 psi.

I am running a turbo'd d16z6 too and have it set for 6 psi daily driving, run it at 9 when I want too. I am using crome with 450's very reliable just over 12k now with this set up.
