I have to repace these door speakers in the next 5 mins or I think I will kill myself! This is the sweetest car with the worst system ever. I know its a drivers car but come on....what has everyone done to fix this problem?

I am not sure which speakers everyone uses.....

but i am pretty sure we are limited on choices because of a depth issue of the speaker to the door .....

i have JL Audio Components in mine

 

I put 6 1/2" alphasonik components in my doors with a new head unit. Had to build a 3/4" spacer to make up for the depth and installed new baffels and the door panels fit like a glove.I replace the head unit before the speakers and it sounded tons better already. Goes to show you how big of a piece of crap the factory head unit is. The speakers topped it off though.(no amp even!)

 

Infinity Kappas are a good/common choice.

 

Focal K2's, you can fit any 6.5" with a baffle.

DON'T BUY ECLIPSE HU!!!! Incredible sound, but they only read cd's every 9th monday of the month... Less than a year old, and it won't even read normal disks let alone MP3 ones.

I work for an Eclipse, Diamond, Focal Dealer. Never had problems with Eclipse reaing disks. Send it out, thats whats good about there 3 year warranty.

Utopias are a little over kill for the S. Youll never hear there full potential in the car. Convertables arent the best for sound quality.

 

add two stock speakers behind the seats, and be amazed, I have the stock radio and four STOCK honda speakers, my radio BUMPS!!! No bs.. it sounds really good and is loud if you turn it up and doesn't sound like ****.

 

I went with Infinity Kappa compontents...$299.99 + tax at the local shop, $160 shipped on Ebay, gee let me think. I'll tell you how they sound after I install them.

 

Oz Audio Martix Elite 180 CS in the front. They're 7" components and fit the Lucid adapters.

My Eclipse HU has always read disks...

Fit perfectly, hooked to the stock receiver....but meh...it sounds good for what is there.

I have a sub, amp, power cap, and receiver boxed up in my garage I could install...but I would rather have the top down and engine screaming than an all mighty sound system.

 

I have the yellow 6.5' Pioneer componets in the doors of my s2k and they sound awsome. Also have some 5.25 coax pioneers behind the seat with an Alpine HU, and alpine v12 amp. Sounds great, and I can hear it loud and clear with the top down and J's racing exhaust.

I'D GO WITH THE ALPINE TYPE R, THATS WHAT I HAVE AND THEY SOUND BEAUTIFUL WITH A SMALL ALPINE AMP

 

I would personally go with a high quality component set like mb quarts
