I use a lot of different methods. I probably would have done something different if I wanted it to look realistic or be for a contest.... but what I did:
copy original layer. Use polygonal lasso at like 500% view of image and cut out everything that's not paint. I.E. cut out around edges. Cut out headlights + windows + license plate.
When done, 100% again. Copy the new cut out layer just in case. Hide the copy. I brought in the pic of the RSX, eyedropper tooled a good spot on the paint (to pick up the orange color) and went to COLOR OVERLAY under layer options for the new cutout.
Instead of Normal, changed it in the drop down menu to COLOR, and like 73% or something. It made the color ABOUT right. Went into LEVELS, darkened it a bit to make it the burnt orange look until I was satisfied.
..........
And I'm gonna go change some other things. LOL.

There's plenty of ideas I would have for a 6th gen coupe, but I'm sure ALL of them have been done in real life, and there's pics of them here on H-T already. LOL.
+ I'm writing a paper for class tomorrow morning. So I'm done with photoshop for the night.
