Will a obd1 engine harness plug in to an obd2a car?

Technically this will work but only when using an OBD1 wire harness in an OBD2 integra. An OBD1 harness will not work in an OBD2 civic because EK civics have a 1-piece wire harness....OBD2 integra's have a 2-piece wire harness that breaks off at the passenger side shock tower just like all OBD1 civic/integras hence the backward compatibility..

are there any wires that need to be swapped in the obd1 engine harness? it seems that my obd1 harness in obd2a car is the problem... because everything else is tested on my del sol.

well if you're using the OBD1 engine harness on a VTEC engine, you need to make sure the OBD1 harness has VTEC wiring added to it ie. the VTEC pressure switch and VTEC solenoid, and KNOCK SENSOR, depending on what ecu is being used, and speaking of ECU's....you can only use a JDM or US OBD1 ecu or a JDM OBD2 ecu in your car when using an OBD1 engine wire harness in an OBD2 vehicle.
oh thats right too, OBD2 Delsols use a 2-piece engine wire harness just like OBD2 integra's! ...noted in memory....
So, if you're using a US OBD2 ecu in conjunction with an OBD1 engine wire harness, you're going to run into problems because the US OBD2 ecu looks for the CKF sensor and 2nd 02 sensor which are excluded on OBD1 engine wire harnesses...
