Default Help. My wife wants an RL. I'd rather have a TL

My wife is insisting on buying an Acura. She likes the RL, I myself like the sportier look of the TL. The TL's interior I like a lot better too. I find the RL a little to "Senior Citizen" for my taste. Any pointers in how to talk the wife in to getting the TL and not the RL and me not having to sleep on the couch for it.

Maybe if you let her know they're both upscale Accord chassis, you could save even more money.

I bought a 2006 Accord V6-6 coupe precisely because I couldn't see the difference between that and the TL!

Show her the price difference...and explain how big of a diamond that difference would buy. I doubt she'll argue with you anymore...

Well, damn. If he's going to have to spend the money anyway, what's the point?

At least he could drive the RL.

I'm not sure women are as dumb as you seem to think.

TL = has way more luxury standard options and so much nicer than the Accord but in no way is the 06 accord a bad car.

MSRP 2006 Accord LX V6 $25,200
2006 Accord EX V-6 6mt $27,400
2006 RL $49,300
2006 TL 33,325

I understand, but the options the TL had over the Accord just didn't mean that much to me. The only thing I'd really want is the Torsen axle.

The Accord has a lot of items these days that you might not think about. Heated mirrors. Heated seats. XM radio. Controls on the steering wheel.

She wants to go to San Diego on a mini Vacation. I told her that the money we'd save by getting the TL instead of the RL, could be used to take the Vacation and she hugged me and started taking my clothes off. So thanks for the suggestions. I know you guys suggested telling her I could get her a dimaond with the savings, but the trip worked just fine.

my dad got a brand new RL for 40 grand. he wasnt impressed with the TL and he said that the RL is the best car he has ever owned. He is going to sell the boxster now, because he enjoys driving the RL so much.

The RL is by no means for senior citizens. Drive one and you will agree. It is for a tech savvy person who is well connected by all tech aspects. The best of the best was placed in the RL which in most cases of can be seen in the TL. The RL does have the SH-All wheel drive system that is amazing, with a few added features that make the car incredible. Compare the cars on http://www.Acura.com and then go drive them for yourself. Both are great choices, but satisfy different needs.

The RL is a great car, one of the best and most comfortable Ive been able to drive, and the interior is much better and more comfortable than a TL's. You dont see many full grain wood waterfalls in cars, and the quality of the materials is not only better than the TL's, its also better than any upscale market car, including Mercedes and BMW. It is also very stable due to the AWD, but powerful enough with 300 horses. If you want sportiness, go with the type S, its got a tighter suspension and subtle front and rear spoilers. Not to mention the seats will be the most comfortable you'll ever be in Go for the RL, but debadge the car, there are too many decals on the back of the car.

which year where u talking about for the TL/RL

2004 RL and below suck. they are overweight and underpowered.

only TL i would own is the 2002/03 model. Type S only.
04+ TL is the bomb tho.

2005+ RL have way more room in the driver seat. plus steering column shifting, rear window auto shade, rear door manual shades.

u cant go wrong with either and all depends on ur budget.

same for the accords, they look alot better rear end wise. they offer the same standard equipment as the TL minus HID's, HP, and some other minor things.

hey george, my brother just bought an 06 v6/6spd coupe non-nav. If you don't mind my asking, what is a fair deal on one? he got his for 26 even, which seems great to me considering the msrp and the 6/6 models are hard to get here.

and for anyone who wants to know, this car will definetly beat out our 05 tl straight line

Take her on a test drive. My mom bought a 2005 TL and once she test drove it she was sold on it. I like it too. Little different then driving my crx.
