Default charcoal canister HELP

hi i have a question on hooking up a charcoal canister. when i bought my car, my car didn't come with a charcoal canister. my friend gave me his charcoal canister off of his EF. i plugged the 2 hoses that are located on the top of the canister, but the bottom one, i don't know where that connects to. does anyone know where that connects to?

I believe the large diameter hose connects to the bottom, it is like a p-trap u-shaped hose and is just a breather that vents to atmosphere.
