Default 70mm Kakimoto R ITR cat back installed on 95 GSR, plus changed brake fluid.

My buddy came over yesterday and helped me change my brake fluid out after 3 years or so.....the fluid was real dirty, and we replaced it with some new Motul 600 Racing brake fluid. I never knew that bleeding the brakes would be so easy.

afterwards, I took off my old 60mm Apexi exhaust and replaced it with a 70mm catback system from kakimoto R for the ITR. I got it from Boom pLus Toys up in Canada.

The exhaust looks real nice and has a small 4" tip, but the piping is huge. I used a ruler and measured the inner diameter of the piping to be about 2.75" give or take so I'm happy with that.

I haven't driven the car yet, cuz I need to fit a custom carsound cat on it, but I'm excited as to how well it'll perform/sound.

have you changed your Tranny oil yet? I just did mine on a 96 after 110K+.

my tranny oil was changed 400 miles ago so its still pretty fresh. Once the weather gets warmer I'm gonna "summerize" my motor

Put in some water wetter with 100% H20 in the cooling system, do my valve adjustment and put on some miscellaneous engine mods for a few extra power.

More mods coming soon

My only complaint is that my GSR is lowered 2" from stock. I look at the B-pipe, and It appears that it hangs as low as the Greddy exhaust I once had...wanna know what i think this means?

I think I may be scraping on speed bumps

But since the exhaust is full stainless and has 2.75" piping, I'm happy with that.

I'd be more careful about running only water in the cooling system. The Water Wetter might not be enough lubrication to keep all the seals and water pump gears safe and happy. For this reason, I would suggest running at least 20% anti-freeze/coolant.

Also, the green stuff acts to raise the boiling temperature of the water...another reason to use it. Water Wetter may keep the temperatures @ 202 deg F, but who knows what conditions that test was run at...it could have been with a fan or while driving at a steady pace...not going full out...like we all know you do at times. The boiling point of water is 212 deg F...is it really worth it to leave such a low margin of error?

You bring up some good points, now you've got me wondering???

In my cooling system, I'm using a low temp thermostat with a Spoon radiator cap.
and during the summer/spring months run 100% H20 with like half a bottle of redline water wetter...now that you recommend 20% H20 in the mix......I may consider it....

I've run with water wetter and 100% water for like 3 summers in a row and havent had problems....so far though

That's got me wondering too...have you ever noticed if the water level ever fell in the reservoir? All that stuff I just yapped off is just the commonly-accepted knowledge that everyone's been handed down from Honda literature, Popular Mechanics, etc....and that's what everyone's been spewing off to everyone else they know. There's no real substantiation or disproof for it...yet. But, better safe than sorry, eh.

Nope, my water level has always stayed constant.....

Well, that pretty much covers the boiling issue. The pump and seal lubrication factor is not worth any of nobody's time to put to the test tho.
