Default motor swaps for a 88 hatch

what all motor swaps can you do in a civic hatch , nothing to complicated but i was wondering can you do a gsr with cable tranny? i know about obd0-obd1 differences and about b16's and ls but whats the best for the buck?

Your best bet if you have the money is a type R swap and just do the cable hydro conversion...but if you want to do something cheap and powerfull LS vtecis good with a cable trans...all depends what you want to use the car for... is it going to be a daily driver or just a street car or a track car....there are so many options and also finances is important....

i want to have a daily driver but mainly for the track, what would i need to do to make a obd1 motor work in that car and other idea? im new to honda hatchbacks ive always had a obd1 integra, but i want something unexpected underthe hood , even like a built ls, im working with around 2500 if that helps keep in mind i dont know if i need mounts, conversions etc, so just tryin to get some good help thanks in advanced
