Default CTR headlights for HID's?

I just got my CTR's on my 99 ek from PWJDM. I was looking at them and the reflector pattern looked different from my stock ones and there was no bulb shroud at the front of the bulb.

Were all CTR headlights HID compatible? Or only on certain models? Can anyone provide insight on this?

Only the EP3's were available with factory HID.
