welding diploma/ceritfication?? Is it worth it?
So far I have 4 diplomas that took 3 1/2 years of full-time school to get. I'll have 3 more once I get my one last credit for a class I just don't have the time to take right now. I got my job while I was still in school. Diplomas/certifications don't mean **** if you can't handle the job at hand. Experience though, from being around others that have welded their whole lives, helps quite a bit. One of my instructors was the president of the AWS in 2005 (American Welding Society http://www.aws.org/ ), and having people like that at your side teaching you makes all the difference.
