Check the IAVC....and the TB....Search under "b16a+idle+IAVC" You should see the problem with the Coolant sensor in the thingy under the TB....it should apply to your 1.6. Take it off...Disconnect the 3 coolant lines.....Open the thing up and Screw iwth your hand the white plastic thing inside. All the way down. It should bring your idle down and then adjust the idle screw...that's if it's not epoxied up. Good luck dude hope it works.

Nothing sounds better then a Car that sounds stock at idle and Sounds even better half way down the street when he hears your vtec crossover... SNIPER STYLE.

Where is the idling screw ??? I actually didn't know there is one, I thought those motors didn't have one.... I just bought the car , and I thought of swapping a B18B, but if I can make it run properlly, I'll just turbo it.

So where can I find it ???
anybody got a picture ???

I fixed it ... it wasn't the idle screw, it was the tensioner on the throtlle body.
The guy who did the swap, never installed it , so I installed one from a 1994 civic, works like a charm.

congrats....

The iavc is the little bottle looking thing undeneath the throttle body and it controls the idle air vaccum as the car is indle. The coolant actually controls the throttle body and Gives the car that funky idle b/c it still thinks it's cold and whatnot. On the inside is a plastic screw that Sinks down when twisted. it's like a manual override ofthe Iavc by keeping the screw looked at it's Lowest setting causing the idle to come down...letting you adjust just the idle screw.
But F_ck it you got it with the tensionor....Good sh_t

Well what happend was I bought the car from the guy today, he put over $2'000 ( canadian) in the motor. But he didn't even adjust it, never tunned it... So now that I got it, I will take ever possible free hour to work on it to perfect what I have once gave up on...
( I use to have an EF, dropped a DOHC ZC motor in it , and sold it... its time to redeem myself )

Thank you for the help, and expect me to be here , more often then I was.... mostlly for the Appearance section, but not anymore.I'll post some pictures tomorrow
