Default Bazooka Bass Tube Testimonials

I have two MTX6000 series subs 12" in a bandpass box, and its loud, sounds very good, but its heavy as hell..

i was thinking of getting two 10" bazooka tubes with the dual voicecoil's from crutchfield for like 160 each..

i was curious to know if any of you have had experience with these subs and/or have heard them before.. how do you like them?

i know theres an audio/video section but i feel since this section is more populated, i'd get more and better responses..

TIA guys

Yeah, I do have a Bazooka tube in my hatchback, but nothing like the original posters set up. It's just an 8in powered version, and I like it, but it's not defeaning, just add's a little kick .

A friend of mine used to have 2 10in Bazooka's in the back of his Escort, and I think he had a Punch 150 running them. It was very loud, but not as loud, or as deep as the pair of 10in Fosgates he replaced them with. But the box was much heavier than the tubes, that's for sure.

I have a 8in bazooka in my daily driver, perfect for conserving space and having some punch. When I got it, I was driving a hatch and now I have it in my 4 door, the trunk muffles the bass significantly..

They are good if you just like to listen to your music and not feel it. They add that third dimension that the mids and tweets will not give you. I like them a lot, but if it is hard hitting bass you are looking for I would look for something else.

well im doing this for weight loss.. i mean i know no subs would be the answer.. but i want subs. and the thing is, i love my 12's in my car now, but i dont have a trunk, and its so heavy..

im looking for an alternative.. if i can keep the same sound, great..

all im looking for is big bass, w/o the big weight..

crutchfield has a special going on you buy one kicker S5 and get the second one free, but then that would mean i'd haft to get a big *** box for those, and a new amp..

Yeah, I'd have to agree with that 100%.

bazooka tubes sound good. they sound good in a hatchback like a crx or civic or integra behind the back seat pointing in the corner. but if you put it in a gutted car it just makes a pop sound and doesnt sound as good. also if you put it in the trunk like in a coupe its very hard to hear even with a 10" bazooka.

What about in a single cab truck? Any opinions on how a powered 8" would sound?

I have this. It's small enough and sounds pretty good. It's clear...not loud.

crutchfield can be a little expensive, but their return policy is awesome. they are on top of their ****, but you gotta pay a little more.

and see, im kinda willing to do so you know? because i'd hate and im sure others do too, to buy something for a good amount of money, then a few days/weeks down the road, it breaks or something goes wrong..

PS i checked ebay, and its like 100 bucks or even up to 150 for a tube from there..

"the box has been opened to check whats inside to make sure nothings missing.." sounds shady as hell to me.

if its brand new, and its just a damn speaker mounted on a tube, whats there to really be missing? if the box is sealed from the factory, whats missing? i know theres a chance but that chance is probably something like 5% out of 100

I second this. bazooka tubes sound empty, they sound loud but you dont feel the bass like with a sealed box.
