Hey guys,

have been looking at all the diferent threads on different engine's, mini-me's etc... so i need some advice on what to work towards.

for starters i've got a 91 SI hatchback curenntly with a SOHC ZC (with 60,000 km on it, or so i've been told haha)

its peppy but i want more power while keeping it reliable this is a daily driver.
so what would be the best idea,
option one: DOHC ZC swap

option two: mini/me swap with z6 head

option three: build current motor, can i put DOHC ZC pistions in my SOHC ZC? or are their better pistons to raise compression?

give me your thougths idea's etc. i will not be getting into forced induction or NOS it will stay N/A and i wanna keep it on the cheap getting the most bang for thr buck

If you want to keep it D-series with N/A, I would do the mini-me. Put some pistons that bump the compression to 12:1. Y8 intake manifold. Upgrade the valvetrain, and balance the bottom end so I could rev to 8k.

 

but he said he didnt want to spend alot

 

if i did the mini me and swapped pistons would i see a difference over if i had just done the mini me? how high compression should i look to end up with to run on 91 gas, because i could shave the head before i put it on to right?
