If your 'Back-Up' fuse is out. . . heads up maybe?
This is the weirdest thing I've seen.
If your Back-up fuse is out, of course the ECU won't store codes.
On top of that, you don't need to use the clutch to start the car.
Also, when you jump the jumper and try to get the code that you know you are throwing, the CEL stays lit but the SRS light will blink out 82!
At first I thought somebody f-ed up the dash wiring, but then I finally noticed the fuse was bad, thus resetting the ECU every power-off and causing all those other weird things.
