10.5 domestics with the sport compacts
Tim Lynch this weekend went a 6.79, should be interesting in getting parity when running them with the sport compacts. I think Humphries went 7.40, but didn't see him in eliminations. Don't know what happened?
The Pro Street class with Titan seemed evenly matched, I wonder if they were down to the minimum weight for this weekend?

I think humphries went 7.40 on a 10.5 tire and runs bigger tires for nopi so i can see him along with efantis running consistetent 7.0-7.1 so the class should be very competetive.
The car went 7.2? with new turbo's and one day of testing on a 10.5 tire. I know for a fact that the car can go in the 6.90 range which will make it very competitive in that class.
First off, Tims car was allowed to weigh less than he normally competes at.
If Tim chooses to run with the NDRA, he already knows his max twin turbo size is 80mm. He currently runs twin 88mm turbos.
According to Steve Petty, the car owner and engine builder, they will not run the smaller turbos on the current set up, but may choose to build a smaller motor to run in the NDRA.

current set up on record passes this past weekend.
2900lbs, 449ci engine, twin 88mm turbos, 33"x10.5"w tire, and new paint.
Also guys, remember, Justin has been a 7.0 in his car with Twin 58mm turbos.

QUICK QUESTION
is there a weight limit or anyting for the domestic cars 10.5 tires vs the import cars
i know that the 10.5 domestics weigh somewhere around 3500 lbs, i dont know what humphries or any of the other guys but just some curious thoughts
are they going to allow the 10.5 domestics to LOSE weight or stay the same?
this outta be very interesting, ive seen alot of 10.5 tires cars here in DE, alot getting sideways and such, always interesting to watch (delmar is not a very good track)

Most Outlaw 10.5 cars are around 3000-3100 pounds. They will have to weigh the same when they race the NDRA.
Paul and Justin both weigh 2800lbs, 200lbs for 2 more cylinders and larger turbos is not a bad deal for the Outlaw guys.

Lynch weighed in at #2900 on the 6.79 pass.
The huge problem now with the turbo cars is they're trying to add weight into them, but almost all of these cars are running an SFI25.2 chassis. The max weight on a 25.2 chassis is 3200 pounds, so they can't throw weight at these turbo cars to slow them down or they become illegal to run faster than 7.49's. You're running into the same sort of problems with the drag radial cars, most of them are built around a 25.5 chassis and now they're starting to run into the 7.50's, so soon everyone is going to need to build new radial cars and new radial classes with better chassis work and new rules, because 3400+ pound cars wen't meant to run bottom 7's.

Darrins car is nice, but the 69 car does not even come close to what the turbo cars like Lynch are running 4.43@170+
We do not however allow motors that large, or carbs on the Domestic cars.
Outlaw 10.5 cars Late model Domestic cars only 1993 body style and later, 449 cu in. max with twin 80mm turbos. 399cu in. motors and smaller allowed twin 88mm turbos. Min for these cars is 3000lbs.
No the payouts were not changed at all. We have found out that while the Sport Compact in several of these classes do not think they race for alot of money, their domestic counterparts do it for even less.
NMRA SSO $2,500 to win
NMRA Pro Outlaw $3,750 to win
NMRA Pro 5.0 $5,000 to win
NMRA Drag Radial $1,000 to win
NDRA Pro GT $3,500 to win
NDRA Outlaw RWD $4,250 to win
NDRA Pro Compact $5,000 to win
NDRA Pro Street Tire $3,000 to win

he's going to fuel injection on the 73 turbo car....but, i guess he's going for a different class with the big engine?

so when they go up against the 10.5 cars will the sport compacts run a 10.5" tire too, or their regular setups? there's no way they can compete if they run smaller turbos, have less displacement, and have to run the same tire.
