ticking after valve adjustment
hello, last night i did a valve adjustment on my cusins 93 ls, it has 140k on it and was ticking so we assumed that is the valves. but after the adjustment it sounds the same, still ticking. i dont have a helms for a b18a, but i do for a b18b, and i used those specs, and i set em at the tightest, 8 on intake and 16 on exhaust. are the specs for a 93 motor and 95 the same? or do they need diffrant clearances? thanks
Most of the time, you can find the valve adjustment specs listed on the sticker on the under-side of the hood. Check there to see if the specs you used were correct.
earlier b18a engines did have different valve lash specs.. go to integra.vtec.net and find the area about valve adjustments.. it has the specs for all of them in that page
pop the hood and see if it has the clearance specs on that label that has all the info on spark plugs, catalyst, etc... if not.. maybe http://www.g2ic.com or some other Gen 2 integra related site might have the specs..
edit: this is taken from G2ic.com..
The 90-91 should be .006-.007 inches intake and .007-.008 inches exhaust
The 92-93 should be .003-.005 inches intake and .006-.008 inches exhaust.
try to verify w/ the sticker under you hood
