No longer Accord :\
Soo, I decided Im selling my 99 accord. Worth 5k about, tranny rebuild 2500+. I don't beleive spending more than half the value of a car is worth it especially when its at 110k miles. The quality other than the transmission is great but Im not bout to spend that kind of money for it, so Im selling all the mods off the car and going to lexus. 00 ES300 with 55k miles. I regret leaving hondas because the sound, the people are just great but hopefully I will return with a bang soon. Anyone looking for 17" racinghart c5's or Ksport 36-way dampening 0-4" adjustables keep in touch with me, Im lookin 700 shipped for the k's and about 1k for the wheels(under 7500 miles, but 2 of the tires are almost shot, other 2 are pretty much perfect) Let me know and hopefully I will see some of you at the meet in April at the BFB.
I dunno what condition your car is in but around here 1999 accords start at about 9K. Is your car a V6?
I paid 6K for my car with a bad trans and I put 3.2K into the trans and now I have a car that is reliable and i hope will last a long time. rebuilding the trans is cheaper than buying a whole other car that you don't know anything about.

Ya i was thinking the same.. u can probably get ALOT more then 5k for your 99.. i belive if i saw correctly adn remember correctly , the kelley blue book value of a 97 is around 4500-5000k (good condition obviously)
a 2001 accord with 157K (red coupe V6 EX) was worth 11K+ and it had 157K on it so............. 110K is nothing on an accord...............
crap! a 99 model w/ a bad tranny? was it under warranty/was there a recall on those?? that sux big time...
I wouldn't pay that much on a vehicle w/ a bad trans...
so what were the events to lead to a bad trans? lack of maintenance? stock oil cooler wasn't working right? should we add an aftermarket external oil cooler instead of plumbing it into the tank of the radiator?

Usually it's 5yr or 100k miles and im over both of them not to mention we got it used from honda for 13k. Value on KBB is 5k, and im stickin with that, it's a DD so theres little knicks and dings here and there. I've gotten some offers for it but not really sure what I could get. Its a 4cyl btw also. I headed up to the dealership yesterday just to check prices. Outrageous. They have one v6 for I think about 20 or so while a BRAND NEW 4cyl accord was 22. Little strange but I dunno. Anyone who knows anyone looking for a nice DD let me know I need this outa the driveway ASAP. Looking at a ES300 today with only 55k miles
ok I just ran a 1999 DX 4 dr and in fair condition it is worth 4.4K LX starts at 4.9K and ex starts at 5.9K
the upper end it 7-9K for the accords if they are in excellent condition.
Since the trans is out on your car it is considered poor and that usually means 1/2 retail price.
