Need some quick help...91 Civic transmission problem
I'm trying to help my friend replace his bad transmission with a used one, but we noticed that the new one does not have the "Speedometer Pinion Assembly" as labled in the shop manual, and we can not figure out how to get the old one off the bad transmission so we can put it on the good one. Is there some trick to this, or are we just missing something? It is the sensor with a cable going directly to the firewall, and is located just to the RIGHT of the rear transmission mount (looking towards the rear of the car). It has a black rubber boot that covers it...we pulled that out, but we can't figure out how to get the part out that seems to be stuck in the old tranny. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
take a pair of vice grips and put it around the base, start to wiggle it and start pulling up it will come out just take a little bit of muscle, just dont over due it and mess it up
