HOW to... change my Front Radiator support (searched)
I was in a little accident and my radiator support is bent and it needs to be removed. Any help would be great. Thanks.

1. remove bolts holding support to frame.
2. Use cobalt drill bit to drill out factory spot welds holding support to frame.
3. Replace with new support, re-spot-weld or use bolts in the previous spot weld holes
my roomate just did this on his car, its pretty easy- he doesnt know anything about cars and he did it

Thanks to the both of you...but to turbotime what is a cobalt drill(I just did a search on ebay..is it special drill bits?). HOw would I bolt it back on..or should I weld it back on? What way is the best? Thanks.
I believe he is talking about the drill bit. The drill bit is like the needle the drills into the metal. You can you any type of drills with that drill bit. I'd stay away from battery operated drills unless you have a powerful one. I'm going to be changing out my radiator support as well that's why i found this thread. You should definitely weld it back on.

cobalt is just the material the trill bit is made of, you can get it at SEARS. Make sure you get a pretty big one, it has to be big enough to remove the spotweld completely.
Cobalt is teh best in my opinion, they have titanium too but i have broken so many titanium bits that i just use cobalt all the time now and save the money of buyiong and breaking a titanium bit

Thanks to the both of you. One more question where to get the radiator support from? I was thinking the junkyard but then they gotta take it off the car...then I was thinking aftermarket, but I don't know if I should go that route. Thanks.

jsut did mine 2 weeks ago strip everythig off the front drill out all oem spot welds n make sure when u put the new one back its strait measuser from holes on new support to fenders bolts n make sure all is good prime over welds so they dont rust out n when puttin everythig back make sure ur light grounds are tight

Definately the way.
Just, bolt it before you weld it, the bolts will hold it in place - it'll make it a whoreload easier to weld.
