d16a6 horsepower/torque?
is it worth to boost?
thinking of boring it to 1.8 , sleeving and running boost. of course fully built.

Goddamned idiot moron.

Go away, you're helping no one, and your loser friend with a stock, heavy, slow pile of Del Sol did NOT beat a turbo anything. His 17 second beast would have a hard time keeping up to his mommy's mini-van let alone a turbo EF.

Now, the D16A6 is rated at about 105 horsepower, and it is non-vtec. It's non-obd, and it's ok for boost at around 6psi untuned. However, there are many people on here that have boosted the block and/or built it, so they know what they're talking about more than I do. Just don't listen to the idiot bench-racers like the guy above, and you'll be fine.

dont listen to what stupid ef said, if you dont want vtec and a 1.8 then do a ls swap, it would be cheaper than fully building a a6

im sure it would hold boost, ive seen d16a6's with stock internals running 12 psi on a good tune with bigger injectors... im actually boosting my a6 with stock internals but im keeping it around 6-8psi.

i say go for it! you can see some turboed a6's here... http://www.homemadeturbo.com/turbo_projects

an no it isnt vtec, 108 hp, 100 torque.

Well actualy its wierd, his can can seem to keep up with a 01 gsr, same mods, stay within a car of 03 si w/ intake. And stay within 3-4 cars of my b16 ef, and my friends ek b16.

i was a mid 05, but I got banned. Im telling you I dont know why either. I mean This is wat im going off of, the EK took the 03si by like 3-4 cars, and the SI was a car ahead of the del slow, and I usually run head to head with the EK (shitty suspen, he has mods, I dont) So thats how I got those figures; I partially raced him and took him bad off the line and just basically stopped b/c it was pointless.

But overall would you reccommend a a6? NO, and thats my point.

Sounds to me that you would be better off with an ls. You will save money and time doing it that wat instead.

I would definately get an a6 (in good running order) and boost it. low 12's on some cars I have read.

People underestimate minivans. I take my mom's van out racing sometimes just because its random and really fun. I took a stock 01 EX, along with a ford turbodiesel 250. It took my 2001 sunfire too, but of course it had nothing on the SI . Too many people hate on minivans. REPRESENT!!!!!!!1

Some guy I know had a turbo a6. It was quick. I like the motor because it is cheap. It was also fairly reliable before he bumped the boost to 16 pounds, ran a 13.5 at the track and blew it up.

speaking of mini vans, there was an old mini van that came turbo which was pretty fast.... i think like 13s in the q/m? anyways just thought i would throw that out there.

Also, they better be some thick sleeves to bore it out that much! good luck man and let us know how it goes.
