Default motor runs strange after jumper harness install

I just put an obd0-obd1 jumper harness in my 88 ef, the motor revs, runs kind of rich as well, when i hover around 3.5k, the motor feels likes its hitting a rev limiter. what could it be.

Also, does anyone haveinstruciotns on how to install the service connector?

D4 | BRN/WHT | SCS | service check connector | -> mil [toggle switch with ground]

TIA

for the service connector you run that wire to a normally open switch. Run another wire to ground.
Close the switch to check codes.

so in this case, do you mean, the open switch .. d4, then connect it to a switch, that has a ground( that would be a switch, i know, but i want to be clear) and then flip the switch( close the switch) or ground the switch

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by court &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">so in this case, do you mean, the open switch .. d4, then connect it to a switch, that has a ground( that would be a switch, i know, but i want to be clear) and then flip the switch( close the switch) or ground the switch</TD></TR></TABLE>

run a wire from d4 to the common terminal on the switch, run another wire from the normally open terminal to ground. Flipping the switch will complete (close) the circuit.

so i dont have to run anything to the ecu, just d4 to the switch, and a ground to the switch
