Are you using a stock head gasket? Is that final drive too agressive for your turbo setup?

yes..stock head headgasket...and as for the turbo setup with the FD...its not a drastic change as to the stock 4.4FD...but the gears do come in a little quicker and Top Speed is a little lower...but it does make it fun to drive and feels to have more torque

the FD was installed when I was tuned all motor...and even then it wasnt a drastic change from the stock 4.4 FD, I'd say speed in each gear was lower by only a few mph@redline

I have the JDM FD and I thought it made a HUGE difference in my car compared to stock. Probably one the most signifigant mods I've done yet

I too would've thought it to be a little aggressive for a turbo set-up

As for your set-up, looks like some awesome numbers considering a stock bottom end and head for the most part. I say good job.

nice numbers, however, your radiator looks a little small for this aggressive of a set-up

thats a lot of hp for stock bottom end.. a lot of stress for both pistons and sleeves. but will be fun while it last

No, it won't. The stock ringlands won't last under that much power.

How much WHP are the rings good for?

195 BHP as rated by the manufacturer

I've seen 300 WHP used as a reference. People with headgaskets have cracked them at 350 WHP. I cracked mine with less than 300 WHP (HPDE, though..)

It seems like <300 WHP is OK for street use. Back way down for track stuff though.

BatoutaHell had a lot of luck with his JSRC setup (20+ days or weekends, can't remember).

Dr Pooface got to play "Spot the oil leak", or "Fire! Fire!"

My favorite game too. Note oil spoo from dipstick hole, on the hood. That made a nice poof of smoke when it hit the turbo and header.

Same weekend.

At my next HPDE, #3 started to not fire.... compression was getting close to zero. Ah well... It actually all started after my 2nd HPDE on the stock ringlands, the compression was never great on #3 after that, and then was destroyed after another 2 HPDE's.

stock pistons.. to be somewhat reliable in low 200's..at least on stock compression

Wow. That's 100hp more than I made on a stock bottom end and 10psi.

I give you a month before you're tearing it apart. Good luck with that.

I've noticed cyl #3 always runs alot hotter than the rest, very possibly more load too haven't got around to doing a power balance test though.

There was a poll on "who has spun a rod bearing and what cyl?" and you can guess it.. majority is #3.

It's all in the driving, actually. Lets see it stand up to 30mins plus track time, max boost.

my stock motor gave out around 350-380whp..

those stock pistons dont like high power at all.

wow, 380whp is huuuuge on 10psi for stock itr motor!

i'm running 9-10psi on my stock itr motor as well, but am not kidding myself... tuning is #1, but stock ringlands (stock pistons) are the achilles heel.

I've been running damn near a year like this and loving every minute of it.

But hey, when it comes time to rebuild, I'll just turn up the boost.

A lot of it is tuning, but a lot of it is driver. If you don't beat on it, don't race in full boost for more than 15 seconds at a time, and don't road race it () then you should be fine for a good long while, or until the boost spikes, or until you get a bad tank of gas, etc.
