..........what mods do you have done to your car already?...........I would suggest having yours ported along with the TB opening widened.

You need more mods before you can justify an upgraded intake manifold.

Worry about it when you finally need it!

Too many people mod their car for the future. Trust me, it RARELY happens that people build what they plan. Hell, just build a G23 non-VTEC and you will get more power out of that than you will from your H23, no matter what you do to it!! If the G23 isn't an option, don't worry about the IM and build the head and get cams.

Seriously, there are other worthwhile mods out there compared to the IM. The F23 bottomend is a better mod than the intake manifold.

eh dude thanks for the input about the intake manifold. i have a question though. i have a aem cold air intake that i just put on the other day and when i put it on i took apart the throttle body to clean it cuz it was really grimmy. After putting everything back together i noticed a pretty loud whistle sound everytime i accelarate or tap the gas? what is causing this?

Are you sure there isn't a leak when you took the TB off? TB gasket not seated properly? That's the only place where I would think it is coming from.

As for your motor build, if you want to build an all-motor non-VTEC engine, read Pirate McFred's thread about the G23. It's the best platform to start off with. As I always say, do it right the first time. It is cheaper and less frustrating that way.

take the intake off and put it back on, slightly repositioned.. I have heard of this happening and it just being a resonance that is fixed once things are moved around..

If there's a whistle - there's obviously a small opening some where. Just reposition everything - did you take the TB off previously?.........are you using two hose clamps on your intake coupler?

It's for turbo applications, though. It's not going to gave you any power to just bolt one on a basically stock engine...
