Default Noisy rear wheel bearings

Noisy rear wheel bearings are an issue on my 96 prelude 4ws 2.3, everywhere i search for details says this is a common fault. However i have tried to source some new ones (in the hub) and price is a whooping £170 each! - has anyone found cheaaper units and if so where from ?
I have tried to strip them down, clean, regrease etc but no they are still noisy!
Any help would be welcome - many thanks

Nope. You have to replace them. I just had to replace my rear drivers about a month or two ago. Its quite now though..........

The more you drive on it - the louder it will get - it won't come off of course, but it'll sure be loud. It'll turn into a really loud clunking noise - like hitting two pipes(hollow) together

yeah same thing happend to me when i bought my lude. i have an in though with manufacturer pricing on these parts though so i got 2 rear bearings for 200 bucks . oh and depending on how long you drive on them it could turn from a clanking into a not moving at all and they just lock up. i suggest if its only 1 side that the bearing is going out on that you replace both drivers and passengers side on whichever axel its on.
