Possible bad master cylinder??
There's a lot of give in my brake pedal before it bites, and my e-brake is tight, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the car from rolling. I had the (front) brakes checked out and they say it may be the master cylinder. Does this sound right?
If so, what kind of upgrade options do I have for increasing braking power by upgrading the master cylinder to a larger size? Would I need to replace anything else while I'm at it?
How much would the m.c. cost, and what's a reasonable rate for install? Any addt'l pieces(price & install)??
Brakes are kind of important, so let me know what you know

Yes...it's probably the master cylinder.
A new one from honda would probably cost anywhere from 200-300 dollars.
A used one you could probably find from 50-100...but then again they might be bad. If you have stock brakes, it's probably best to just get the one that's made for your car. If not, then the 88-91 EX sedan master cylinder bolts in (4 wheel disc), but thats what someone on the internet told me. Make of it what you will, I haven't tried it myself yet.

You might wanna check the tension on the e-brake cable ... the slack may be why your still rollin when the e brake is engaged .... if you look in any rebuild manual for the car it should specify the number of clicks it takes to succesfully keep it from rollin ..... if you go way past those clicks ..... tighten the e-brake cable a tad... it a pain but you can go to your local bike shop and if they are nice they will let ya use a cable tensioner
