Default New Brakes Opinion...

I am in need of some new brakes and was wondering who makes some good drilled/slotted rotors and good pads? I am planning to do some track racing this year and need some good brakes.

Rotora slotted or Brembo Slotted, Axxis ultimate pads, SS lines, and DOT4 brake fluid.

If you need good brakes, I suggest doing some research in the Road Race/Autocross forum before you concern yourself with cross-drilled and slotted rotors. I run Brembo blanks on all four corners with aggressive pads and sticky tires. No need for slots or holes or any of that nonsense.

Research. Do it right or do it twice.

Definitely.

First time I did my brakes I went with slotted rotors, aggressive pads, & sticky tires. Results were an improvement but not what I was expecting. After about three years, with only occasional autocross use, the rotors warped - and no shop around me would resurface them.

This time around I went with a setup similar to Archidictus. I greatly prefer it. A friend of mine, who was in the car the first time since I changed over, actually bitched because I was stopping so hard. Keep in mind I'm still on snow tires, so I was barely touching the pedal at the time. The increase in cold/warm braking power is remarkable.
