Apexi N1 exhaust help.
I read something a while back about the N1 rattling sometimes. I did a search, but came up with nothing. Whenever I am going down the highway, and I let off the gas, something below the car starts to rattle pretty bad. What is it? Heatsheild? Have any of you experienced this problem before? If so, what did you do to fix it? Thanks for the time. Peace.
mine does that also, i think its because i got JDM headers, but friends makes the same sound also with is headers....u got headers?
I don't have an ITR, but a GSR instead. When i put my jdm 4-1 and apex n1 on i got that same rattle whenever i would let off the throttle. Check under your car for heatshields making contact with the piping cause thats what the problem was for me. I looked under the s-pipe and i saw a few marks on the heatshield of where it was contacting. If you find a spot where there isn't much room inbetween the heatshield and piping, then try to bend it to give it more clearance. Hope that helps and good luck.
When i first put on my apex exhaust before anything else it rattled quite badly as well. The rear heat sheilds seem to always rub on the pipe. Some ppl remove them i just used a crowbar and bent the heat sheild a tad to ensure it wouldnt rub anymore.
For clarification, on mine it was not the cat's heat shield it was one of the rear shields. just get under it on the passenger side just infront of the rear wheel and you'll see it, bend it out a bit and you'll be all good.
good luck
