What are the engine codes for the NSX and S2000? Do you think an NSX engine could be put in the back of a 5th gen HB for under $20,000? It's just an idea I came up with one day, which would make it a drag racing terror, but would probably take too much weight off the front wheels, so suspension would need tuning. Anyways, what do you guys think?
engine codes:
s2k = f20c
nsx = c32 i think, i think the 1990 nsx was a 3.0 liter though
about putting the nsx motor in the back of the hb, anything is possible if u have the money. i've seen a civic with a chevy big block v8 in it before, but is it really worth it?

Ya, I've seen the Cevy Civic before. I think it would be pretty cool and completely worth it to me. It'd be very fast, able to get over 400 HP legally, RWD, but the only thing that worries me is handling, so it'd probably only be good for the strip, but I want to road race. It'll probably never happen for me anyways.
I think the 3.0 liter is designated the C30A. I've seen used NSX engines as low as 4K but new from the factory I think they're around 20K.
You'd do better putting a big ole' turbo on the HB. Probably a lot cheaper too.

It'd be cheaper, but it'd be just like everyone else, it would be much harder on the engine to get the same power. And I couldn't get as high while staying reliable and legal. Not that there are any emissions tests where I live...
If you can put an NSX engine in the back of a CRX, then you should be able to put it in the back of a 5g hatch. In the pictures I saw of a CR-NS-X, they actually put the NSX engine and rear suspension in. The problem there is that you then have an insanely much wider track than factory.
Now, if you could rebuild the front suspension to have a wider track to match, and come up with good geometry, then good handling would be theoretically possible. At that point, though, you're probably better off building a full tube-framed car and just putting the civic body over it.
In the long run, though, there are probably better ways to spend $20000. Like, making a downpayment on an NSX.

if you got $20,000 to spend the sky is the limit as far as your ideas go. but if you got $20,000 and you are only 14 please let me know wat you are doing for money so i can follow in your foot steps.
Well, if you transplanted the entire engine, fuel system, ECU, wiring harness, everything, there's not really any reason the engine shouldn't be reliable. Now, if there were other issues from having the suspension and driveshafts at bad angles or something, then that's another issue.
Also, there are plenty of factory-clean and reliable civics running around with integra motors in them.
