wet sanding

i just sprayed my engine bay and i have what looks like dust of some sort can i wet sand the actual color before i lay the clear?

your post is confusing. If you are talking about sanding the base coat before you clear, you can, but you have to cover the sanding marks with more color. was your surface clean,dust free and tacked off?
