2002 standard transmission. I got an 02 rsx and an 00 gsr to chose from. I'd go with the rsx just because its newer with less miles if it is as quick as the gsr.

definitely wont be as quick as the gsr stock.... but it's a newer car with newer engine platform (k20 series)... but dont expect much more power from (k20A3) with just simple bolt-ons ....

What exactly is the difference between the base rsx engine and the type s engine? Is the block different? heads?cams?IM?pstons?

I have heard of poor mans type r in an integra. Is there a such thing as a poor mans type s in an rsx?

Si beats it because of gearing.

In my EP with just an intake I've beaten a coworker's '00 Si repeatedly at the track.

*edit* Sorry, I forgot that the base RSX does have a bit taller gearing than the EP...

As far as the differences between the base and type-s engines... well, just name it, and it's probably different. Hondata and Temple Of VTEC (I think) have had good writeups.

Just for comparative purposes when i owned a bolt-on EM-1 Si, i really have NEVER lost to a bolt-on ep-3. It was always side by side till the top of third gear and then I could get a couple lengths thru forth. Same way with the base rsx.

If you can get a good enough jump on an EM-1 of similar power you should be able to hold it off, I guess they are a lil tougher to drive, mainly the torqueless of it all makes them difficult to launch.
