is my ss tranny dead?
I just got this car, its an automatic 98 prelude. Basically, we bought a shell of a prelude, which just had the interior, but was missing everything under the hood. It did have a shift boot, and clutch pedals. We also bought another prelude that is an automatic that had sustained frontal impact, but the engine was okay. So we basically swapped the auto tranny and engine and all the other good components into the manual shell. We changed all the harnesses around, replaced the cluster, took out the clutch pedal, shift boot, and shift linkage. When we finally got the car up and running, the car engine sounds like it is working way too hard, when I start the car out it in first gear sport shift mode, it goes to around 3,000 rpm and it feels like it is losing power, and if I try to push it to 4,000, it sounds like I am redlining it. Using the sport shift, when downshift from 4th to 3rd, around 3,000rpms it feels like I am engine breaking, and I feel a huge jerk and my car slows down really quickly. I want to know if the problem is my ss tranny, which also takes around 3 seconds to shift, or is it bad wiring etc.
