they probably had that idea since before you owned a Honda.

In answer to the question how much fabrication is needed?

Interesting reading material! my EF 88-91 Civic/Crx H22A motor mount kits dont require any hitting of the firewall its close but not that close and only 1 custom axle is required not 2 and you can use the factory driverside engine bracket. But other then that install steps are similar.

Not from you, if that's what you're insinuating, the prototype car has had it for a long time.

Yeah it's one of those quirks of Hasport mount kits where we insist on leaving the engine mounted at the same angle that it was in its original chassis. I get kind of **** about engineering.

When I saw your alternator bracket post last November I had always assumed you saw our car at the Eibach meet in May and copied us.

Great. So glad that we will be able to offer this kit to our customers finally
The fabrication that this swap used to take was crazy -I'll be glad to do them now with the kit, and happy that now these cars with that much power will be able to have a much better mount too!!!

"When I saw your alternator bracket post last November I had always assumed you saw our car at the Eibach meet in May and copied us. Where's the cable conversion for your clutch?
Yeah, I'm kind of **** about mounting the new engine at the same angle that it rests in its original chassis. Just like I am with the clutch cable, I want the ratio of pedal movement to remain the same as it would for either a D-series cable or H-series hydro tranny."
I never saw the car at Eibach unfortunately I am located in the NW. The Hasport H22 crx has kinda been a mystery car no one has seen it till it was in the Mag. I have been selling the kits for a while now with the D series alternator kit as an option.
I am just as **** as you guys at Hasport on getting the engine just right and maximizing ground clearance, axle positioning, and weight distribution etc. But we didnt need to move the firewall at all. Every Co. out there postions the engine differently.
I am curious to how much ground clearance you guys have? and how far away is the valve cover to hood. My H22 Crx is dropped so hard to compare but has 2" drop 3 1/2" ground clearance and about 1/2" between valve covers highest point and hood. I have yet to hit a bump in my car it is my daily driver and is also my weekend warrior on track and off.

I appreciate the thumb up, but coming on to Hasport's press release post to compare begs a response. Don't get me wrong, you did a pretty good job getting a kit out, but the engineering is not up to Hasport's standard.
For starters, the movement relationship of the stock D cable is about one and a half inches and you are pulling a release arm that moves less than half and inch.
If you didn't dent the firewall and you notched the rear crossmember you angled the engine differently than Honda did. We didn't. It also means the engine is now taller. Consequently, it either sticks up higher or hangs lower. I wish I had pictures of ground clearance too, unfortunately the H-CRX is now the Turbo B-CRX. When I put the new F20B CRX together next month I'll post pics.
And then there's the rear bracket, if it attaches like I think it does it can't be that strong. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though until I see one in person.
