Default getting sick of open downpipe need exhaust help

Been running open downpipe for awhile now since I had turbo... I love it but its just to loud now... So I need some help with my downpipe and my exhaust... Right now I have a 2.5" downpipe and I want to put a 3" custom exhaust on it. I want to buy from atpturbo.com but will loook anywhere else. First major question is how hard is going to be to convert 2.5" to 3"? Also what kinda pipe should I buy. I know SS but thickness? How should I hang it? Should I use my old hangers? Should I make it just one piece or should make it multiply pieces and connect it with flanges?

I made mine in two pieces.SS Works,JC Whitney and ATP were used for parts.I fabbed/welded the down pipe to a flex to the cat. Then I used a ss band clamp and fabbed/welded the rest.I used the the Honda rubber mounts and mounting points and welded posts on the piping for the rubber hangers. This was a eg hatch and was tight to keep the radii smooth. It's quite flexible but never rattles.

I've been thinking myself what do get. I hear the electronic ones break all the time due to the elextric motor being so close to the heat. I was thinking about that VES, but if you think about it, it's crap. It doesn't open until you're under boost...this helps top end, but the main reason you want open header is for faster spool times, which the VES wont open until you're spooled.

I think a cable driven system, or maybe a cable with a motor on it would be the best solution.

yeah, ive thought about the electrical one too. i also know what you mean with the ves system. i think the best bet is to buy an electrical one and heat rap the hell outa your exhaust where the motor is to keep the temp's down. I think it will work b/c i can still remember my buddy heat rapping his headers, then driving the **** outa his car. after that we popped his hood and we could still touch the headers b/c of the heat wrap.
