Default Can this be considered a Type R or not???

Just out of curiosity since this is the ITR spot. My project is near completion and I figured I would toss this over in the ITR forum to see if my "MUTT" is an exceptible representation of an "R" or not. I am mostly curious on your thoughts...honestly they don't make or break me...after all this, I can't just take it all apart and start over
Cheers.

PS be sure to scroll through...just eyeing the heading or first pic will leave you confused.

I hope you are thick skinned. I feel the flames already.

That thing is hideous. Take anything and everything off that has type r on it as that car misrepresents a type r in every way..

No, it is not.

There is no such thing as an acceptable representation of an R. It's either an ITR or it's not.

It's not the worst thing you could have done, but the DC2 front end looks much too big for that little hatchback body.

I saw one in San Antonio once. *shudders* I have to agree with Reid & cryptikman on whether it's an R or not.

I will make a suggestion though: paint the car! It's pretty clear your front clip is a different color just from those pics. Just out of sheer, morbid curiousity, I wonder what it weighs out at when corner weighed. It looks like it would be really nose-heavy given the new position of the engine.

The work looks very nice, but I have to say that the front end does not flow with the hb's body at all.

Awhile back I was "left" a 98 ITR from a friend of mine. His roomate found him one morning on the couch, here he had a heart-attack and passed in his sleep. His roomate took off in the ITR and spun it into a tree. So after everything was said and done I had a wrecked ITR so I decided to salvage EVERYTHING I could and put it into my 2000 Civic hatch.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Sorry no offense, but this sounds like the lamest bullshit story I have ever heard.

Your friend crashed someone elses car and you ended up with it ?

Its ok to just state you stole it, its expected from half the civics out there with B18C5 swaps, only you decided to use the whole damn thing.

I find it amazing that during that horriffic accident, the inner door panels or none of the front end was damaged. Must have been one hell of a dead on collision.

^^^makes you wonder.

I was simply going to comment that you have some serious fabrication skills and patience.

I also sincerely hope that all of those R parts were aquired legally. Also, if the Type-R that was left to you was wrecked and totalled, post up the VIN number in this thread for me.

the only reason im not a fan is because in the back of my mind i wonder where the used type r parts came from. even if you paid for them legit who knows if the person u got them from did the same. ever since i bought my car i feel as though i have to keep my eyes glued to the rear view to see whos around, i cant even keep my car at my house due to the fact that i have a black EK driving my block a few times a week looking for my car(and i was told people were checking it out)

Exactly and not trying to say it in an arrogant way. Same thing goes for any car.

I give you props for the work but it's definitely not my cup of tea.
