how do i replace the hatch lifters on my 91 si.

Default how do i replace the hatch lifters on my 91 si.

i need to replace mine they are worn out and dont lift anymore. i dont have a manuel to help out so i need your help.

look closelya th where they are attached to the body. notice the hex shape. get a wrench and a vise grip. put he vise grip on the shaft of the opposite side you are working on to hold it up since weakened shocks will not hold the weight of the hatch from crashing into your noggin. then unbolt the side you are working on and replace it. do not use the vise grip on the new one-you will mar the shaft and cause it to crap out prematurely. the shocks are strong enought o to hold the weight well enough for you to replace the opposite side.
