****ATTN H-T**** i need your help
hello every one i am getting my car painted in 2 weeks time need to make a decision on this. i am not to sure whether to take my side moulding off or leave em on when i paint the car. here's some pic. please help me decide on this.
(don't about the corners that's just temporary.)
here's how many km's on the car

muckey shot! ie: money shot (not that much money)






she's stayin black i like the black with bout 5 coats of clear.
just not to sure if i should keep or loose em.
she's winterized right now (because of canadian weather)

if im not mistaken, i think there are holes under the moldings. you would have to weld all the holes shut. id leave them on. but after reading your post again, do you mean leave them on while the car is getting painted? because you should take them off then reinstall them after the car in painted.

I believe there are two different kinds: clip-on and stick-on.
Mine are clip-on... I'm not doing all that filling, so I just bought some thin-side moldings and called it a day.
If are asking wether to paint them or not... I'm guessing most poeple in here will say leave them black. But it's your car, and your opinion.
I personally like the painted look.

Too much clear coat can reduce the shiny-ness and make it look dull. Use the proper amount and wetsand/buff to a nice shine.
Oh, and for the side moldings, take them off while the car is being painted then put them back on when your all done. My .02

Just seems to me like you have bigger issues than wether or not to remove your moldings. Issues that simply painting over is not going to fix. If you are not going to fix the huge *** rust holes your molding or non-molding car will still look like "a$$"
