Removing Head-Unit without Keys ???
Hi,
I bought an Integra last week and it has a Pioneer cd-player in. But the car didn't come with the keys needed to remove it.
I already have a Sony head-unit which plays MP3 files so I would like to remove the Pinoeer one.
Is this in any way possible?
Thanks,

Depends on what kind of car. If the car has a dash kit, you can disassemble the dash and remove the kit and radio as one piece. Otherwise, you can sometimes use a long thin screwdriver down each side and use a hook pick to pull the deck out...
Edit... Just read that you said "Integra"
What year?

Hmm I was thinking maybe I could phone Pioneer and see if they can send out a replacements key-set - I do have some kind of serial number for the head-unit.
Yeah I got a Milano Red Integra Type-R. It was first registered in 2000. It's an X-reg UK car. It's not a sexy DC5 but I really love this car.

if they used a dash kit all you should have to do is go to you local best buy and ask them for a set of pioneer keys. Im sure they will let you use them for a min to pull ou the radio if not just give them to you. They will have a bin with probly 50 sets of keys in it. All the key is is a thin metal strip the slids down the sides of the radio to unhook the cage from the deck. You could even use say a couple thin knifes and slide them down each side then pull. Good luck.
if they are the long keys that i thnk slide into the sides look like these:

i have a extra set i will sell you for $1 shipped.

Thanks everyone,
I actually managed to remove it now anyway. The previous owner hadn't secured the unit properly at all! All I had to do was wiggle it a bit and the whole thing came out easily.
