I have a 94 accord EX
i have done sleeve coilovers many times on civic and once on my accord but
i have never had to put the stock springs back on (now i do to sell the car)]
anyway yesterday i put the springs back on but i felt like i was forgetting sumthin
when installed them and lowered off jackstands the struts in the rear came up through the housing at the top where the 2 bolts connect on the chassie behind the seats to hold the struts in
please help - i cant figure out what im missing or did wrong
i compressed springs and slide them in the groves at the bottom of struts
i put bumpstop on with gold washer overtop of it
then i slide the tower housing over it and tightened the ride adjustment nut on the top as tight at possible
could it be the fact that i left the plastic cups off that go over the struts between the springs or am i forgetting sumthing else
please help i have to have them done by sunday to sell the car

where ya get the coilovers and were you happy with the way it drove? i am going to drop my ride and am not sure if coilovers or springs.....also were you running factory struts?
Never install lowering springs on stock struts, it will severely shorten the life of the strut and the car will ride and handle horrible. The only coil-over I would go with is a true coil-over system like a Tein or something similar. The Ground Controls are good too because they clip into the aftermarket strut of your choice and you can choose your own spring rates. All the other sleeve coil-over systems that are not designed to work with the strut will make a lot of noise and chatter, this is something that most people are not willing to deal with, me included. Suspension is the number one thing that you want to sink some money into and not go cheap on, after all it is your ride quality and life at stake here.

thanks for the advice
i have done coilover many times b4
and on my last car i put sp performance struts with ebay coilovers and it road almost like stock
the only reason i went with the sleeves on stock suspension was a money issure(i was low on cash) and the only reason im changing them is b/c im tring to sell the car and people are complaining about it being lowered and bouncy
i just never have had to reinstall the stock spring my last two cars i sold lowered and my friends ive done never complained
but ive never done a 94 accord and it was like 8 months ago so i forgot some things
but im not a low budget ricer
i just had to buy what i could afford b/c ihad plans to do full suspension i just never got around to it
but like i said thanks anyway

No joke, I hope you plan to tell the buyer of the car about this. That is just plain stupid

its not half-***
the civic struts only had like 200 miles on them (basically new)
are only a quater inch lower so you really cant tell the difference and if they ask i will tell them
after changin the brake line holder and tower cover they fit perfect so i dont see the big problem
