oh really?
you can pretty much mount any sohc F series and H series on f23.
but please do beware the gear ratio and it's effect on powerband

not totally true. you do not want a 90-91 accord transmission as they use a different tranyn case tht does not allow the 94-01 mounts from an accord to fit.

well i know that bronn and pkspx on http://www.honduh.com have both done the conversion pkspx had the h23 and bronn has the h22 the gears are noticably shorter and from what i hear acceleration is improved while gas milage is worse
but if you do the tranny swap id recommend swapping the 5th gear from the f23 over to the h22/23 so that you can drive on the hwy at a lower rpm that will help with gas milage

i have heard that it works i with most interchangable trannys that honda makes i dont see why it wouldnt
id give it a try since you would have two trannys anyways

yep that's possible for sure. they're really the same transmission w/ different gearing so you can swap the gears between them. I haven't cracked into a honda transmission myself (yet) but have heard this from multiple sources.
ive tore a few F22 and H23 trannys apart before and the only thing i noticed was different, according to part numbers, was the actual final drive but i don't think i checked the fifth gear but i'm almost positive first and second are the same gear and that the final drive is where each gear seems to be shorter such as the F22 first and second go to close to 30 then 60 and the H23 tranny goes to just over 25 then around 55 with both trannys being on my F22b
