Re: results after spoon camshafts and V-afc controller (capcon83) (t)
Rereading your original post. Power output does seem low for the cams (I am talking about the mid hp figures and tq figures). What kind of dyno does motorsports dynamics have? And was your baseline run done on the same dyno?
With the spoon cams there should of been a 5-7hp gain when VTEC kicks in over the stock cams. Plus the torque should of gone up with the cams. What are the settings that the tuner put your gears to? (He may have been lazy and decided that it would be easier to tune the electronics part rather than moving the cam gears) How many runs did he make adjusting the cam gears?
good point!

FYI
i was opening my sony cordless phone and it said vtech all over the iternals so vtech does rule
i was opening it because it was broken i was not tweaking

Who exactly did install your cams? Friend? Shop, if so please name it? Garage? Dealership?
And did they tune them on a dyno? Are they a reputible shop for tuning cause it sounds otherwise?
What else do you have as for mods to assist the cams? VAFC which one? Cam gears? Fuel pressure regulator? Air fuel meter? What all have you had done to your poor little R?
Did you use a wideband o2 sensor when tuning?
So what you are saying is the guy changed something but, you never really told us what, and then you say that the CEL is on STILL?
How do you know what CEL number you have? Is the guy helpiing you reputible? I know I asked this already but, as I said it sounds like he isn't.
Good luck,
And I won't even begin to comment on the Vtech thing.

Honda uses the same code for being too rich or too lean on CEL readings, only way to tell the difference is to use a wide band o2 sensor/guage, or a Honda scanner, or read your plugs. Maybe you are running too rich ?

Please don't false advertise. Your title says results after cam install yet there aren't any results in your post. Results would be HP figures or track times... all I see is incoherent babbling! Thank you!
Let's please let him try to explain everything first Before he gets bitten...
I am very curious...
Please clearly; with proper grammer and minimal spelling errors, Explain exactly Everything that has been modded on your car?
Then explain Clearly what the chain of events that leads you to us at this moment?

ok in my car i have V-AFC controller, Spoon Camshafts & Camgears, Comptech 4-2-1 Headers, & AEM cold air
i did a dyno test to the ground before i had the Spoon camshafts and camgears in, i got 175hp torque was 119
After i put in the spoon camshafts and camgears i got it tuned, after tunning i had 178 hp torque was 119
after spoons my mid range went up a little (4hp) between 4000rpm to 5300rpm and then my high end went up (3hp) to 178hp
I had my car tunned at motorsports dynamics (3hr) he tuned the V-afc and the sprockets
my torque went up too, from 2997rpm to 4700rpm went up 4ft/lb from 4800rpm to 5800rpm went up 8ft/lb from 6000rpm to 7000rpm went little down and from 7100rpm to 8000rpm went up 2ft/lb
vtec set to 6000rpm

tecnic is right, we need to see the graphs, sorry.
It would also be extremely helpful to see what the before graph looks like, AND to list exactly what you know the tuner did besides Just tuning. Unless you don't really know. No biggy if you don't but,t he graphs or at least the one with the Spoon installed wouold be very helpful.

Here is very important information about doing any cam work it was written by Tuan a guy who knows his stuff:
I. For beginners who aren't familiar with what lift, duration, and VTEC are, please read these good links:
http://www.howstuffworks.com/camshaft.htm</a> http://www.howstuffworks.com/question562.htm <A HREF="http://asia.vtec.net/spfeature/vtecimpl/vtec1.html" TARGET="_blank">http://asia.vtec.net/spfeature/vtecimpl/vtec1.html
II. Mild Cam Upgrade: ITR cams (CTR cams differ only in the intake VTEC lobe duration and by only 3 degrees and a a little steeper ramp angle..that's it!: There's no advantage in getting CTR cams for a B18C.The 2000-2001 ITRs use CTR profiles and make identical power to 1997 ITRs) - about 8-10 peak whp gain properly tuned.
III.Moderate Cam Upgrade: Spoon, Toda Spec A, Crower 63402/403 cams, Skunk2 Stage 1, Crane Standard Follower, Zex 57200. Do not need compression increase but an increase will help gain more from the cams.Use JDM style 2.5 in. collector header. about 15-20 whp properly tuned.
IV. Aggressive/Extreme Cams: Toda Spec B/C, Jun Type 3, Skunk2 Stage 2 and 3, and Zex 57300 needs valvesprings upgraded, compression increase , JDM style long primaries with 2.5 in. collector header, and ECU reprogramming. about 22-25+ whp gain, if properly combined in a package and tuned.
V. Very interesting but unknown performance wise:
Crane and Ferrea partnered to make Crane Roller Follower cam 253-0514 with Crane Roller Rockers 253-0805 (also known as RR1000 Roller Rockers) which are made by Ferrea .
VI. Cam Specs: "411" on these
The Honda cam has 3 lobes per cylinder: The two staggered primary non-VTEC lobes flank the middle bigger VTEC lobe.
All profiles listed here represent the VTEC lobe spec only and duration is @1mm valve lift (the import standard for comparing cam profile durations). Notice that ALL manufacturer's websites do NOT list the standard 1mm valve lift spec for duration. Marketing is huge and only an uninformed customer does not understand that reporting the domestic duration standard @ 0.05 in. lift or advertised duration is not providing comparative profile info between import cam grinds . No ramp/flank angles are provided. Prices listed are from the manufacturer's link (MSRP)in US dollars. I don't cover the specs of regrind VTEC cams available like Webcam, Gude, and JG.
Read and learn why we are interested.
