mcmaster cad drawings

you can download a lot of mcmasters parts for cad.

are they the right file type for autodesk brand inventor edition 10?

I'm sure Inventor will be able to import them. The Autodesk family of software has a HUGE list of supported file types.

Depending on the part you're looking at they have several different formats available to download them in. I know for sure they have Solidworks *.prt files for most of the parts.
