Default HID in 91 DX, preventing scatter.

Im pondering the idea of getting a McCulloch 5000k kit for my crx.

After searching I found that the ripples in the stock lenses will cause nasty scatter issues and will be shitty for oncoming traffic and people I drive behind.

Further searching lead to two options

Get projectors with clear lenses
or
Sand the **** out of my current headlights to rid them of the ripples.

All the ebay projectors are really ricey looking, and I dont want to attract any attention to my car + have it look like some ricey POS. Is there somewhere that sells good looking clear lenses that will bolt in?

Or has anyone had success with the sanding method? I'm willing to spend the elbow grease

Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. I have a set of HID's but I refuse to use projectors. So they are going to sit on the shelf until I decide otherwise.

even without the projectors the headlight has to be specificly designed to reflect the light onto the road. Projectors and or doing a headlight conversion will only work.

If you look in the faq thread at the top, there is a reallt good thread where a guy did a HID in the stock housings. The scatter was very minimal.
The key is to set the depth of the bulb correctly. He did it and the pics look really good.
Also he did this a couple years ago.

That sounds like the right idea, I have seen projectors where the lense was not clear and the scatter was not an issue.
