overheating problem

overheating problem
seems like the coolant is coming out of the overfill tube, i know it is supposed to but after like 50 miles the car will start overheating, the overfill tank cracked so there is currently nothing on it, is this normal the only reason i ask is b/c i've had other honda's with the overfill tank missing and they didn't overheat or spit out a lot of coolant
