Default Thermostat help

Can someone please tell me what the differences between the Mugen Thermostat and the OEM thermostat is? The only thing i know is that the Mugen one opens up at 80 degrees. Is it alright to use for a built h22 daily driven? thanks

NO. DO NOT GET THAT.

Unless you're drag racing the car that is a STUPID thing to do.

No car runs efficient UNLESS it is at optimum temperature. To run efficiently, a car must burn off all gasses.

Don't get it. Period. You'll just hurt performance in the outcome. The factory cooling system is efficient enough.

If you want to keep your car cooler - just make a fan switch. But that would be piontless because when driving at highway speeds- the air is cool enough.

Even if its 90 degress outside, you have to think about the chill factor at 70MPH.

If you buy an 80 degree thermostat - it will be wide open at 100 degress which is stupid. I was playing around with my hondata s300 - and the middle temperature line(on the gauge) doesn't come on until the coolant temp reaches like 164 +/- 5 degrees. Atleast on my car thats when it changes.

Yea I would not suggest getting it unless you are running a turbo car and your are trying to keep your temps low to keep detonation at bay. I believe that the 80 degrees mugen lists is measured in degrees C. This would be equal to 176 degress F.
