What the hell is a stretched steelie?

I'm looking for some 15" black steelies right now - if no one has any, i'm just going to buy them new.

stretched steelies are when they cut the middle out and weld in a spacer to make them bigger...

Well, if you have some 15's. Let me know when you want to get rid of them. I'll take them. seriously.

I think they are 14's cuz the alloys are 15's right? I'll make sure and check tommorow. I just need to find some locally and ill hook you up with these kingpin.

it's all pretty pointless. think about it: let's make a steel wheel bigger and heavier and use it for racing.

I'm not the one to advocate knock-offs, but just buy some ******* 15" Rotas and call it a day. You can even get them in black...

the look of the steelies I can respect. the practicality of steelies I can respect.

but the point of stretching steelies? lost on me, I'm afraid.

How do you change the diameter of the rim without changing the circumference?

When you say cut the middle out you get an "O" shape and you can't make it any taller without changing it's circumference. I dont think this would work, unless you're talking about cutting off the outside edge of a steelie and welding the edge of a larger wheel onto that... but why go through all that hassle? just put the bigger ones on.

But if I'm wrong, I'd like to see this done.

change in diameter without change in circumference? blasphemer!

it's more like: change the width of the wheel (stretch wider) without changing the diameter...deep dish look.

that ****'s great for VW's but not on any honda

i rock steelies during the winter time..

If you keep them clean looking - they don't look bad whatsoever. I think i'll always rock steelies.

Usually when i think of steelies they're on a pos dilapidated car but that picture makes look good as long as they're clean. I think I might get myself some clean black steelies now.
