How to remove rear seats. Need Urgent Help. TIA
I did a search but found instructions for a 4 door and it don't look similar to the a 2 door.
I have removed the rear carpeting, the retaining clips for the backs on both sides and that one bolt (according to Chilton's, sorry no Helms
)
Now, all of the pieces seems still intact.
How do I remove the backing. Someone is already buying my cloth seats so I want to be careful and NOT break or damage anything.
And then how do I remove the bottom section?
Thanks in advance. I will be checking shortly. I am hoping to finish this today.

I can't believe i am going to respond but here it goes...just kiddin...here
first: remove the snaps that hold the cloth back of the seats by poping out they are just snaps...don't lose them though
1. There are clips on either side of the back of the seats pull them out with pliers located bottom left corner of the back of the seat where back attaches to side of the car, take the clip out and remove the backs
2.there is a bold that holds the "butt" part of the seat, use a 10mm wrench take it out and pull up the seat...its easy, if it seems like something is snaggin the seat its just more snaps pull firmly
post again if you run into any problems

Yup, that's right. Here's another explanation cuz I'm bored
You already took out the carpet "caps" so next, fold down your back seats (toward the front). On the side of the seat (toward the door panel) you will see plastic clips. Pull em out. Then shift the backing to the right and wiggle the entire thing out.
Once that's out, you can see the 10mm bolt holding the bottom part. Unbolt that and just lift up on the seat.
Wham! You're done. Good Luck.

I wanted a two seater.. But everyone tells me how nice my rear seats look! Plus I would want to put removable carpet back there to make it look better... I can see this working...
hey if you get velcro and put it on the cloth backings and stick it to the carpet that comes up from the floor board it looks real nice...lata
That is to make it look clean you know...just pull the cloth backing forward
