anyone have horsepower #'s for a GSR head on a b18a block
I was wondering if it is best to have a full GSR engine or if the b18a block that I have with a GSR head will put out close to the same power as a GSR block and head. tried a few searches but didnt turn up anything good, thanks in advance.
Search for "ls/vtec hp" You'll get 596 results.
Nobody can tell you the power you'll get out of that because every car is different, even if they're the same setup.
In terms of reliability it's WAY better to have a full GSR engine. A GSR head on a b18a block isn't going to make the same power. Now if you put some different pistons in there, it most likely would make more power than a GSR.
Do a search for ls/vtec reliability and make your own opinion as to which you think is worth it.
I vote for all GSR motor.

Yeah, if you using a B18A block, which I plan on doing, my B18A block has about 203K miles on it. And i'm definately going to rebuild that before I do the setup. Just because the amount of miles.
So you could you use the B18A, but just upgrade the pistons/rods like slvrblckf4i

are you going to replace with stock b18a pistons and rods or bore out and put in bigger pistons, "if they have bigger pistons."
