Tires on 16 x 7 rims
the reason i am asking is because im getting new rims, and a website offers a wheel and tire package with the kumhos. im kinda iffy about getting the tires on the rims through the mail (a lot can happen during the trip here via air shipment). so should i get it as a package, or go to a tire shop and put the tires on...? thanx
hey i wouldnt worry about shipping man. i have ordered a few sets of wheel/tires via UPS and have yet to have a problem with anything.
however, tires are heavy and if you opt to buy them at a tire store like discount tire you might save a little money on the shipping fees.

i have those kumhos, not real impressed with the treadwear... I am looking into falkens when these are gone. which will be soon.

im going on about a year on my kumho 712's and they're about 1/2 gone... they are a softer compound than the 711's which i had in 17x7's and those were pretty good...
in the snow, these tires, the 712's arent the best selection. i had recieved them when we had a snow storm here and i had almost no traction, and that was starting off in second...

If you're not impressed with the treadwear on those kumhos, I dont know what more you would expect out of a falken.
If you want more treadwear, get a high performance passenger tire and not your high performance street type of tire. You'll sacrifice grip for longevity, so its your call.
yea, i had falkens on my rims once, grips like crazy but i was down to about 50% tread in about 8mos. plus when it rains, it skids like crazy. I remember when i was buying the set, the guy told me not to drive in the rain. now i kno why.
