They are a salvage company that also deals with wreck auctions and sales. They are national and used by many insurance companies.
When I bought my first R back from State Farm, Copart was the company that was storing the car and delivered it to my house free of charge. Had I not bought it back they would have done the same thing as above, either sale or auction.

Copart is the company that has brought me a nice return over the last few years.

heres some pics of it. One thing that should be noted is that the car is "on approva"l meaning they have somewhat of a reserve price and if the bidding isnt high enough they can decline the offer.

yeah seriously...
curious how copart got ahold of it. i cant see that being a total loss. wonder if the owner is aware its been recovered and in that condition? someone should run the plate.

It's possible that it was a theft recovery already before it was again stolen and semi stripped which means that the value could have been valued lower than average to begin with and thus totalled. Or it could have gone missing for longer than it took the insurance company to come to a deal with the owner.
To me it looks like a bunch of ricer amateurs got to it but didn't get finished stripping all other "looks" parts

it could also be a situation where it was stolen, and then not recovered for a month or two so the insurance company already paid the owner out on it and the car belongs to them now, so they are sending it to auction.

I just said that above.

I don't know if I would trust it without the valve cover. Who the hell knows what happened after that came off. Could possibly be looking at a new head, or even a new motor. But if picked up for the right price even if it is bad, probably still a bargain.
