Barbara Parks passes away
Barbar Parks, wife of NHRA founder Wally Parks, passed away last night. EVERYONE should take 2 minutes to read the story on NHRA.com. It will give you a new appreciation for DEDICATION. Everyone knows Wally's contributions to drag racing and hot rodding, but not so many know of Barbara's influence. Please read the entire story, and appreciate what she did with her life, so that we could all enjoy the sport of drag racing.
God speed, Barbara. You are missed.

That is a very inspiring story. She was there from the beginning. Actually, before the beginning. RIP

She never hesitated to refer to her family as all the people of NHRA—not just employees, but drivers, crewmembers and fans. That, of course, is a fitting tribute to the woman who gave her all so that those of us involved could have a sport we love and enjoy, and careers that would not have been possible without her foresight.

And it should be told that Wally and Barbara Parks are and were huge supporters of the Sport Compact Series.
Wally and Barbara once told me at the Championship Banquet that these racers are the future of drag racing. They are proud that "these kids" are taking the reins of drag racings future.
Class acts all the way.
Rest in Peace.
